Preserve the historic remains.

Europe is the place for tourism. The amount revenue generated from the tourism industry is amazing. India can take a leaf out of their book. We boast of such great culture and heritage. But we have hardly done anything to preserve our historical remains. Except for the very well known sites of historical importance, the remaining are in a state of disarray. If only we could preserve the remains and build the industry before its too late.

I had gone out during a weekend with a couple of my friends. We visited a dilipidated fort before we started a trek in the western ghats. He said ' Maga ondhu kalu itu 2 pound charge madthare, adhana jana nodoke barthare. E thara fort namma deshdalli yest idyo, adhake 10 rupai itru yaru barolla'. [Exact translation: Indians do visit places where there is a memorial[ a stone] and they spend 2 pounds. But there are so many forts like this in our country, even if one were to charge 10 INR people would harldy turnup.

Well i guess we have lost our affinity to our rich culture and tradition. The kings of our country have spent lavishly on magnificent pieces of architechure. The least we can do is to preserve them for our future generations.
